Add this Surfer Helmet Rig for DSLR Camera/Smartphone for Film & Photography from Proaim to your support rig arsenal to create realistic POV shots. Supporting cameras up to 3.08 lb, the hands-free design, allows you to shoot for extended periods without having your camera shift due to arm fatigue, maintaining the POV look. The helmet is size-adjustable and has straps to secure it to your head.
Mount your camera to the adjustable front rail, or to the either side of the helmet. A detachable cold shoe mount allows you to add a variety of accessories like a mic or light. Use the included counterweights to balance the helmet so it stays well balanced on your head and doesn’t shift.
Secure Yet Adjustable
- The helmet is designed to fit head sizes ranging from 22 to 24.4″, and a ratcheting strap allows further adjustments.
- Equipped with a camera mounting bracket with two-point adjustable knobs on the sides for secure rigging and positioning the camera at the best POV shooting angle.
- The helmet interior is soft and adjustable, ensuring comfortable operation.
- Use the included counterweights to make sure your helmet is not off-balance due to the front weight of the camera.
Multiple Mounting Possibilities
- The helmet has front, top, and side mounting plates with multiple 1/4”-20 threads to support various options for rigging cameras, external power, and other accessories such as small video light or microphone.
- A detachable cold shoe mount on the top allows additional accessory mounting flexibility.
- Screws on the side plates adjust the position of the camera bracket to your desired height.

These 300mm (11.8”) long Rods are one of the basic building blocks of all SYMPLA rigs, and are always used in parallel pairs to create a track which allows components to be mounted and positioned correctly.
Rods can be united to make longer tracks (using the included screw junctions), joined at different heights using the V-Offset component, or shifted laterally using the H-Offset component. Although the possible uses are numerous, these long Rods primarily serve as the track for SYMPLA Fixed or Variable Plates, since the extra length allows a wide range of camera and lens (and viewfinder) combinations to be correctly positioned for the operator and for other SYMPLA components, such as the Flexible Mattebox.
Made in 15mm (0.59”) diameter tubular aluminum for strength and reduced weight, 300mm Rods are the longer of SYMPLA’s two sizes. Supplied as a pair, with two 1/2”-13UNC screw junctions included.
