Every musical era has a characteristic stage look – from the amplifier walls of the 70s to the modern high-gloss LED stage. One element, however, never changes: the microphone stand. This must offer three benefits: a stable stand, quick and easy adjustability and a compact transport size. The new Gravity® MS 43 DT B scores in all disciplines.

Folded up, the MS 43 DT B measures only 62 cm; fully extended, the tripod stand reaches a maximum height of 161 cm. The reason for this flexibility lies in the integrated double extension, which enables both a compact transport height and the maximum set-up height and also ensures high stability of the entire construction.

Additional stability is provided by the powder-coated steel tubes and the sturdy stand, which, unlike most compact microphone stands, is not made of plastic but of robust zinc die-cast.

The ergonomic height adjustment and alignment of the MS 43 DT B is carried out via the Gravity® adjusting screw, which have proven themselves on live stages and in the studio alike, and are made of highly resistant ABS with a non-slip soft-touch coating.

The MS TBA 01 is a professional microphone boom arm that can be attached nearly anywhere using its versatile clamp. The clamp’s very wide clamping range, which is designed for table edges up to 54 mm in thickness, and the specially shaped clamping surface, which enables device attachment to smooth surfaces as well as pipes, makes universal positioning possible.

With its three joints the desk-mounted microphone boom arm can be placed in pretty much any position you want. Another special feature that Gravity® developed for the microphone holder mechanism allows you to pull out the entire microphone holder with one hand and rotate it in 90° increments, even after the microphone has been screwed in place with the microphone or shock mount. The holder then automatically snaps back into place. Why is that so special?

Just imagine, you’re sitting at your desk and want to record a video when you do a last-minute check of your camera. That’s when you discover that the microphone’s current position is getting in the way of the picture or that it’s blocking you from seeing your sheet music or notes – simply pull the microphone towards you, rotate it, and release. Voilà … you’re all done!

The Gravity® MS TBA 01 is made almost entirely of lightweight aluminium; only the table clamp is made of steel and provides the weight required for securely attaching the entire structure to the desk. The microphone cable also runs safely along the arm. It is neatly packed in the integrated cable guide so that you can quickly exchange the cable when things get a little hectic.

Those who do not place their studio monitors on a table surface, but use dedicated stands and mounts for monitoring in their own studio, are already doing a lot of things correct. Nevertheless, studio monitors also generate oscillations and vibrations here, which are transferred to the supporting surface and can thus impair the stereo image of the speakers. Usually, the larger the surface, the more energy transfer takes place. With the SA SM IF 01 absorber pucks, Gravity has a solution ready that can have a big impact with small means.

The Gravity Absorber pucks can be placed freely under a loudspeaker (e.g. studio monitor) and achieve a decoupling of the loudspeaker cabinet and the installation surface due to their silica gel surface. This significantly reduces vibrations and oscillations and makes the stereo image more precise by reducing acoustic smearing and discolouration.

The load capacity is 36 kg when using four Gravity SASMIF01 absorber pucks, which means that most speakers on the market can be used without any problems.

Mastering and mixing professionals usually listen to music in ideal conditions in control rooms specifically designed for mastering and mixing. Studio monitors are either built into the wall or installed on expensive stands positioned just far enough away from studio furniture so that nobody can accidentally bump into them. In day-to-day life, however, most musicians, producers, podcasters, etc., put their monitors right on the table. Not because this is the best solution, but because there’s not enough space available.

Even if you invest in a good table stand in this case, you still have to live with the fact that people might walk by or carelessly move the entire structure and destroy your optimum listening set-up. Regular stands for studio monitors also need a lot of room on the table due to their lower base plate.

Gravity® has tackled all these problems with the SP 3102 TM. The studio monitor stand features a table clamp to securely and safely attach the structure to tables with tabletops no thicker than 100 mm. Just like other Gravity® products, it can be tightened using a sturdy and handy knob. In contrast to conventional table stands which require a large base plate to not budge, SP 3102 TM’s clamp base is only 10 × 7 cm and does not take up more space than a standard screen holder. The design of the studio monitors stands ensures that they do not stick too far out off the table. This ensures a greater distance between the listener and monitors even when tables aren’t that deep, as well as the perfect speaker placement to find the sweet spot in the room.

Everything stays put with the SP 3102 TM thanks to its clamp that keeps stands fixed in position. In addition, the SP 3102 TM is fully equipped to help you perfectly align the monitors into the listening position. The stand has clearly visible markings to adjust the height, rotation, and tilt. There’s also EVA padding and an anti-tipping device to make sure your valuable monitors rest securely on the upper shelf, even when tilted up to 15°. You can now sit back and enjoy the sweet spot!
