Sound Devices Astral Outpost

The Sound Devices Astral Outpost is a NexLink remote-control extender for the Astral wireless microphone system. It allows you to mount the NexLink antennas at a distance from the Astral receiver, alongside UHF audio antennas, and closer to the Astral transmitters for better 2.4 GHz signal strength and range. With its antennas strategically placed in the arena closer to the action, a single Astral Outpost can encompass all the action within a large stadium—eliminating the need for them to be near the equipment rack where the receiver needs to be located in a less-than-ideal position. Setup is easy with simple plug-and-play installation utilizing Cat-6 Ethernet cable or even fiber optic Ethernet. Built to withstand harsh environments and outdoor conditions, the Astral Outpost can be powered either via PoE or its USB-C input.

NexLink by Sound Devices offers long-distance remote control of all astral transmitters, allowing you to adjust every parameter remotely with a range that surpasses the audio signal. While NexLink operates at 2.4 GHz, traditionally limiting antenna placement to within a few inches due to cable loss, the Astral Outpost overcomes this limitation.
