The Blackmagic Design URSA Live Encoder is a live processing module that slots directly into the URSA Cine Immersive 100G camera, encoding immersive video into ProRes for output as SMPTE-2110 IP video over 100G Ethernet. It compresses the camera’s high-bandwidth feed down to approximately 46 Gb/s, making it practical to transmit two camera feeds over a single 100G Ethernet connection for live production workflows. This is designed for professional broadcasters and live production teams working with immersive video formats, but it also opens up live spatial content creation for studios experimenting with next-generation viewing experiences.
