The Core SWX Battery V-Mount Plate for Sony PXW-FX9 attaches directly to the rear of the camera and connects via a DC output cable. It also provides a 4-pin XLR input to allow for hot-swapping. Plug in a 4-pin XLR external power source and you can swap out your V-mount battery. The plate secures to the camera using screws provided on the back of the camera, under the removable cover plate on the rounded corner. At the same time, a protruding U-shaped component on the bottom of the unit inserts into the camera’s battery slot. The DC cable provides a 19.5V output that’s compatible with the camera. An LED on the side of the plate provides warning of low battery status. When the plate is not in use, the DC cable can be kept inside a dedicated compartment that’s on the interior side of the plate.There are also two D-Tap outputs for powering accessories. A USB port is also available for firmware updates. The plate is made of durable aluminium.

Tilta Sony L Series to V Mount Adapter Battery Plate Type II – Tilta Gray

This allows you to use the much greater battery life of a V-mount battery to power your camera setup, keeping battery swaps to a minimum.
This is also the perfect solution to power smaller accessories that traditionally use lower capacity L Series batteries such as smaller LED Light Panels or external monitors for focus stations.
The Type II version is designed to be more compact to put less stress on the Sony L-Series contact pins, but can interfere with some of the ports on Z CAM camera bodies.
We recommend Type I plates for users who foresee this being an issue.
