Designed as the ultimate soft light source of the Vortex series, Creamsource introduces the Vortex24 Soft RGB LED Light Panel—packing an impressive 1950W output into an IP65 weather-resistant all-black body. The Vortex24 Soft arrives as the lighting solution for high-end productions requiring a softer LED source with more coverage, full RRGBBW, effects, and powerful illumination. Affording the ability to control 24 pixel zones, the Vortex24 Soft enhances the user experience with pixel precision. With its included yoke and handles, the Vortex24 Soft will make its mark on set as a high-power, all-in-one, versatile LED lighting system that maintains a compact 38.2 x 27 x 10.2″ form factor.
110° Beam Angle
One of the highlights of Vortex24 Soft is its 110° beam angle in contrast to the native directional 20° beam of the previous Vortex24 Hard. With a wider 110° beam, the Vortex24 Soft version produces over 190,000 lumens and still offers 24 pixel zones. The 24 pixel zones allow for creative effects and complex lighting simulations. If you are a filmmaker or lighting designer looking for a wide native soft output, the Vortex24 Soft is the perfect solution thanks to its flattering, even light spread across a wide 110° beam.
Impressive Output
Featuring Creamsource’s Color Management System (CCMS), the Vortex24 Soft still delivers an impressive output without giving up a softer appearance, making it better suited for smaller spaces or coming closer to your talent and camera. Experience a bare output of 66,659 lux at 3.3′ and 5600K or use a conveniently included XWIDE lens that allows the Vortex24 Soft to reach (an even softer yet bright) value of 52,386 lux at the same distance and CCT. Speaking of color temperature, just as its Hard model, the Vortex24 Soft offers the same widely adjustable range of 2200 to 15,000K, as well as a typical color-accurate CRI/TLCI rating of 95.
Color Management System
The fixture’s advanced Creamsource Color Management System (CCMS) was developed with meticulous factory calibration and sophisticated software algorithms done in CIE XY color space. This ensures consistent, high-quality light output across devices while maintaining color accuracy at all dimming levels, and compensation for temperature updates. Users will experience a 0-100% dimming feature with a super-smooth low-end mode. The RRGBBW (red, deep red, green, blue, royal blue, white) LED configuration improves the quality of red saturation with a deeper blue color and enhanced warm and cool whites, which surpass traditional RGBW setups.
Vortex Ecosystem Features
The Vortex24 Soft’s advantages include plus/minus green, hue/saturation, XY, gels, direct RGBW, effects, and the latest FrameSync technology built into the latest CreamOS architecture. The 5000 fps functionality enables flicker-free operation in high-speed modes. Another particularity is a sync input for triggering and syncing to the camera shutter. These are some of the same relevant characteristics of the Vortex24 Hard.
Wired & Wireless Control
Control the Vortex24 Soft onboard from a local color LCD screen, or opt for wired and wireless control options that enable a wide range of advanced control methods and protocols. Connectivity options include DMX via standard 5-pin XLR connectors, a wired remote control accessory, integrated LumenRadio TimoTwo with BLE, a USB-A interface, and two etherCON ports. Network configuration with dual Ethernet ports/Gigabit switch supports single-cable and daisy-chain setups.
Browser-Based Configuration
The CreamOS V3.1 has a multilingual web interface that allows you to configure and manage multiple Vortex fixtures from any browser.
IP65 Weather Resistant & Cooling
Just as the Vortex24 Hard model, this soft version is water resistant and sealed for security and efficiency. The Vortex24 Soft is built and designed to withstand all weather conditions and is rated IP65 for rain, snow, or dust protection. The fixture also has an ultraquiet fan-based system with low-noise variable speed fans.
Design
Another benefit of the Vortex24 Soft is the fixture’s seamless rigging points via LNX. Made of durable aluminum and technopolymer, the Vortex24 Soft features eight LNX sockets along with eight 3/8″-16 rigging points. It intentionally comes with a removable quick release yoke and an integrated power supply.
House Power Mode
With familiar features of the Vortex8, the Vortex24 Soft expands the output considerably, while its larger form factor reduces the need for multiple units. The fixture draws 1950W, making it compatible with standard circuits and features a House Power mode for 15A operation. The built-in ballast facilitates storage and transport, optimizing your workflow on the go. The included power cable allows you to plug the light in and have it ready to go.
Additional Details
Dual front-mount rails enable easy adjustments by allowing attachment and removal of modifiers right from the front of the fixture. The light’s front latch system facilitates quick changes considering the Vortex24 Soft LED panel is also compatible with separately available lenses and other additional accessories.
