Matthews Mini MAX Boom Stand

The Mini MAX Boom Stand from Matthews solves the problem of rigging light fixtures in inaccessible spaces on set. Placed far outside of the shot, the Mini MAX can strategically hold lights on a maximum arc of 105″.

Mini MAX easily flies fixtures of up to 20 lb on an 8′ vertical and 8′ horizontal extension. This allows grips to provide a 5/8″ baby pin rigging point for top and back lights in shots that would not accommodate traditional light stands. For safety, only sandbags are needed as The Mini MAX doesn’t require rear counterbalance to comfortably fit into corners or against walls. The stand is nearly unrestricted in its placement thanks to three adjustable Rocky Mountain legs that can adapt to unsteady terrain. V-shaped brass brakes within the Mini MAX’s thick threaded collars provide a strong three-point locking bite to prevent slippage.
