Chimera Standard Lanterns are a durable alternative to a traditional paper ball or “China Ball” lantern. With a 360-degree full-diffusion body, standard lanterns are almost completely spherical, allowing for an omnidirectional soft light. Hand-sewn with Chimera’s proprietary high-heat materials, Standard Lanterns are compatible with all Strobe and Video Pro speed rings. A removable skirt that allows you to flag either one or two of the Standard Lantern’s four sides is included. Fixtures with fully-exposed bulbs or flash tubes are recommended to properly illuminate the lantern.

Chimera Pancake Lanterns features a flat-top design that allows the lightbank to be placed higher and closer to the ceiling. This maximizes placement options as well as limiting unwanted overhead bounce from the ceiling. Pancake Lanterns mount to any Chimera Speed Ring for Strobe or Video Pro lightbanks. Fixtures with a with beam angle or fully-exposed bulb/flash tube are recommended for proper illumination of the lantern.

The included skirt attaches to the Pancake Lantern to enable control over the light-spill. With adjustable zippers and velcro on all four sides, the skirt can be rolled up or down to vary light spread from an omnidirectional overhead source to a straight down-light.
